Monday - - 1 August 2011

We said good-bye to our friends in Alpine shortly after sunrise and got gas and
a taquito breakfast to go at a convenience store on the East side of town.

We drove past evidance of the Roper fire (a medium sized wildfire which burned over 100 acres at the eastern edge of Alpine)
and continued through dry ranch land with thicker strong limestone caprock on the top of higher land to the south of the road.

Sanderson TX where we stopped to mail a letter
No this is not the Post Office.
However the Post Office did have a public bulletin board out front for people to share their news.
