Olivia Langdon Clemens, wife of Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) was a member of the Class of 1864.
There is a deep connection between Mark Twain and Elmira, NY.

Elmira College is slightly older than the much larger Cornell University in nearby Ithaca, NY.
