Charles Towne Landing and City of Charleston, SC
We returned ashore from our tour of Ft. Sumpter by noon.
Since we had plenty of day left we decided to do this day (Thursday) what we had scheduled for the following day.
That being, visiting Charles Towne Landing and the City of Charleston.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
We crossed the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, also known as the New Cooper River Bridge into Charleston.
We drove across Charleston proper and crossed another bridge over the Ashley River to a place calle West Ashley.
We found a small mall to buy camera batteries and also found a delightful Chinese restaurant where we had lunch.
Then headed to Charles Towne Landing State Historic Site, which was nearby.
The entrance was heavily wooded.
After paying the entrance fee, we first toured their excellent little museum.
A detailed model of the Carolina a merchant ship of the time of the settling of Charleston.
