This book has 11 chapters.
Chapter 1 covers T.E. Lawrence early life from birth 16 August 1888 through his education in Jesus College, Oxford
and his work in archeology examining Crusader castles and later at an archeological Hittite dig at Carchmesh.
He knew several languages including the Arabic of the folks actually digging the site, and got along with them very well.
He well understood their culture and way of life, and among them had a special friend Dahoum.
He also met Gertrude Bell who came by during the dig. The end of this chapter includes the beginnings of the Arab Revolt. (Against the Turkish Empire.)

Chapter 2 included the capture of Aquaba. This included how he managed to earn the respect of the Arabs.

Chapter 3 introduced the -Twenty-Seven Articles- revealing what is necessary for British officers to be successful to deal with the Arabs.

This book is as much the story of how the Arabs were treated as a work on T.E. Lawrence.
It examines how things went so wrong politically towards the end of WWI and the -peace- negotiations afterwards. which took all too long, and were terribly unfair.

I recommend this book.
