A Novel from the end of the Cold War period. The captain of the most advanced Soviet (Russian) submarine, who was badly treated by the government at home, takes over the submarine (the Red October ) and manages to defect to the USA. that is much less easy than the simple task, as the political officer and some hard liners needed to be disposed of.
A rousing and convincing tale. - As good as the major motion pictue which was made from the story.
