As you see the bucksaw frame is essentially an - H - pattern
with the blade spanning one leg, sharp side facing out and
a stout cord wrapped around the (top) legs and with a stick thrust through the middle
and twisted to take up and pull, tensioning up the blade.

I used some clear fir 1 x 2 sticks
a length of cord (I used waxed polypropolene) perhaps 12 to 15 ft
a length of blade cut from bandsaw blade with holes to accomodate a machine screw drilled in each end
- or a longer hacksaw blade for the smaller saw
A stick to wind the Spanish windless to tighten the blade

If you drill the hole for the cap screw slightly undersized you will not need to use a nut
between the grab of the wood by the threads of the screw and
the tension from the blade from winding the Spanish windless it will hold quite well.
If tool storage space is an issue, this saw can be broken down to take up very little space.
