The floating bridge across the Blanco River.
Troop 583 was at campsite 10 on the NE (far) side of the Blanco River.
The trek across the bridge was done several times a day.

A view of part of the campsite.
It rained a few nights. The tents were in good order and did not leak. They were pitched on platforms, which managed any wet earth problems.
Cooking in camp.
We cooked breakfasts from raw materials provided by the commissary. A hike to the commissary early every morning (6:00 AM) brought in what was to be cooked. It contained fixings for a hearty breakfast, different each day, but always included eggs, milk and breakfast cereal. We also received a ration of and block ice to keep the water in our jugs cool. For the most part we were provided a sandwich type lunch from the commissary which we ate in camp. Supper was served for the whole encampment at the dining area at the top of appetite hill 1500 feet over and 500 feet up from the bridge area. It was not just a hike, but also a climb.
Relaxing in camp with Tyler G. our assigned camp commissioner, and guide to things the Cima way.
We had our own flag ceremonies at our campsite.
All necessities were covered at the campsite, and they worked flawlessly.
